VMware is 3rd Best Place to Work in IT 2023

According to ComputerWorld. Link below. With tongue in cheek I firmly congratulate VMware on this accomplishment!

All of these great place to work "awards" are marketing BS. I remember working at NetApp years ago and they made a huge push to make sure employees filled out surveys with a big internal campaign to make sure they would place high.

Just look at the rest of the names on the list, and it will tell you all you need to know about the quality of the list. Not a single se-y start-up in the bunch; just old, stodgy grind houses.

"The original people at vmware toiled to push the company up from the dark depths of 'inventing an industry'. Now the jingoistic H1B employees are riding it back down into obscurity by ruining everything with excess complexity and low quality and eXtreme work avoidance, yet thinking they are the cream of the crop." <--- BINGO. This right here is exactly my experience at VMW.

Looking forward to the imminent slash and burn of this zombie organization.

Bring it.

living up to sustainability goals

Crock of excr-ment.

Internally, everything you do takes more resources time and electricity than this time last year.

According to ComputerWorld.

Trade rag that's free.
Fill out their demographic info to get a free subscription.
Hmm, sounds like YOU are the product and they are delivering ads and
fluff the advertisers think you want to read.

Not even a good source of newsprint to even clean your car's windows.

I used to work in marketing at Cisco - always in the top 10 places to work because they paid to be there. All of these surveys are click-bait anyway and not a result of employee votes, another case of the top players in the industry voting to be the top players in the industry.

Companies did their own scoring against these categories. So, if you lie on a survey you win prize.

Diversity
Employee engagement
Hybrid work
Benefits
Career development
IT growth

"In scoring the responses from the company surveys, results were weighted against averages and benchmarks calculated within each company size group."

Also, Kit Colbert on Linked-In said:

"Happy to see VMware on the list yet again! Our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, to supporting innovators & living up to sustainability goals is a key part of our success. I'm proud to call VMware my "work home" for almost 20 years!!"
