Thread regarding Micron Technology Inc. layoffs

Quarter end

Layoffs are about reducing costs, and also showing shareholders that has been completed. Sounds like this coming week might be final round for Boise since it is also quarter end. Think it is going to be a hard week, but maybe some end to the darkness.

In my team of 60ish...3 of us that used benefits were cut...guy in wheelchair. Guy disabled by covid consequences and myself who took leave for insomnia...all of us were over 50. Young guys are ok. Just remember you have benefits just don't use them. 😉

There are still many duplicates jobs like planning and inventory management . i wonder why micron did not consolidate them. Its a low demand environment some of these job needed or reassigned?

Yes. After the quarter end, the company enters the next quarter. You always want to show this quarter is better than the last one. Since Q2'23 is so bad, why don't they get it worst. The management has 2 days to cut jobs. They want to turn the business around starting from March 1. If you are not let go within the next 2 days, you should be safe for another 90 days until May 31, 2023. Good luck.
