Thread regarding CDK Global Inc. layoffs

Lay-Offs are back on

A lot of people were once again laid off yesterday, we were told to keep our mouths shut till end of day today ( Thursday ) as that's when this round would end. We were asked to stay till March 31st to transition our projects to team India and were told we would get one months worth of severance pay. If we fail to do what they ask us, we would not get anything. The lay offs in our Team started around 10 AM EST yesterday with a "Mandatory Manager Sync" call being placed on the calendar and the managers just sitting on the call while a person from HR did all the talking. It was all over in a matter of minutes. So many years of work with CDK down the drain, the company is full of false promises, the CEO a liar who said there would be no more lay offs after the last round in November. They really expect us to transition our projects to team India after the way they are treating us? No way Jose, I am out!

Severance based on tenure. The Great Place to Work was earned under BK. A collective preverbal wail permeated across the company when B-Mac’s face appeared in our inbox. His arm had to hurt after patting himself on the back for so long during his first town hall where he introduced “Fit and Focused”, low brow bashed BK & congratulated himself on acquiring “eleadS” his previous stint (it’s elead, no S, wasn’t that great of an acquisition, and came with disengaged “leaders” who excel at missing or canceling meetings). I am glad to no longer be in that toxic good ol’ boy environment. It’s got to suck with so much tenure booted. My chin drops every time I see someone new on LinkedIn open to work who was a true rockstar for the company.

They bought that great place to work certification. They have had dismal glassdoor and indeed reviews for years, it was an attempt to fix that.

@1whc+1lkJ0zgm - I'm in the same boat as you.

Like you, I feel great that I work for an ethical company making more money, but I feel bad for coworkers left behind, waiting for their turn on the chopping block. Many of them are already looking, I know because I get emails and phone calls asking how the market is outside of CDK, if my company is hiring, and etc.

I feel sad that BM is destroying what once was and still could have been a great company to work for.

If this is anything like the last round of layoffs severance is based on time with the company. I was with the company 2 years at the time, got 2 months severance.

As someone who was laid off back in October, I highly recommend getting out of there if it's an option to you. I got a much better job, it's so much less stressful, I'm paid more... it sucks, and I feel so terrible for everyone still at CDK, but honestly I think it's in everyone's best interest to be actively looking to jump ship.

Regardless of your situation best of luck to you all. I liked working at CDK while it was good but it's so much better elsewhere.

Anyone know how many people were let go? Wonder how many people who were let go, completed the survey that helped CDK become certified as a great place to work feel now?

I guess now BM can continue his plan of selling off everything he can and making off with a ton of money as part of the BoD.

I got laid off yesterday. The last day is the end of April. Severance is based on time of service.

every 3-4 months was the pattern during the last time BM was CEO

Severance is based on seniority and position. It ranges from 1 month to six months.

It seems like CDK is laying off once every 3-4 months now (7/2022, 10/2022, 2/2023)

If I still worked at CDK, I'd be busting my hump to GTFO of there.

Sounds like it is based on time of service

Not everyone is getting 1 month. I know several that got 26 weeks.

Only one month severance? That's brutal.
Was there anything based on time at the company?
