Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Health insurance increase 2024.

New health insurance plan in 2024. Will it be cheaper and cover more? Anyone remember Sam's and Helen's health insurance where you got money back at the end of the year? I suppose with less people contributing (layoffs) you'll be paying more. Walmart's minister of truth your up.

Nope. None of that plays a part.

Now what could make the cost of health insurance rise with the leaders in Bentonville controlling costs. Profit? Bonuses?

Here’s the facts:

  1. Walmart’s health plans are self funded.
  2. Walmart pays insurance companies to administer their various plans.
  3. Walmart sets the cost of plans, not the insurance companies.

So, no one at an insurance company can tell you what the cost of Walmart’s plans will be unless Walmart has already decided and told the insurance company.

The only exception is the various life insurance offerings, and the critical care coverage rider, I’m pretty sure.

And, I’m absolutely sure the insurance companies Walmart contracts with have very strict NDAs (non-disclosure agreements) and if anyone at those companies spoke out regarding any details of a Walmart plan, it might put the contract at risk, and, insurance companies don’t like that.

Haha so funny. Not. Yes, I do work for an insurance company. Why is that so hard to believe? Anyway. Like I said insurance rates are not going down. They will continue rise.

“Fokes”. Are you serious?

Come on, you can’t make this stuff up. Even a 5th grader knows better. If you’re reading anything on this forum, you’re seriously in need of something productive to do. And if you believe even an iota of the stuff being spewed here, that says something about you.

Fokes, the previous poster's eye is at the top of the pyramid on the back of the dollar bill. He can't prove anything but see's all and knows all. If you pay attention to him you will call him flip flop or slip sliding away. Do not let him prevent you from posting anything on this web site. It would be better without him but he does have an opinion even though its not his.

“Fokes”. You don’t need to read any further than that.

That’s right. Walmart health plans (medical, dental and vision) are self funded. Insurance companies don’t set rates for self funded plans.

Oh, that’s so convenient it’s almost laughable. Of course, you used to work for Walmart and now work for an insurance company. Sure. :)

No, it will not be cheaper and cover more. I left WM and now work at an insurance company. Rates are increasing year to year not decreasing by any means. Rates will continue to rise.

Walmart’s medical plans are self funded. Doesn’t matter how many are participating. But, watch for a new plan for next year. I think you’ll be surprised and happy. If you’re generally in good health and don’t go to the doctor a lot and not on maintenance dr-gs, you should check it out.
