Investor beware of TDC's "cloud growth" sleight of hand. I worked there and I saw what the previous and current CFO are spinning. It is technically true, but not a smart metric to focus on. Let's do some simple math. If you had two buckets and there were 12 dollars in bucket 1 (on-prem) and 6 dollars in bucket 2 (cloud) for a total of 18 dollars. Then you moved 6 dollars from bucket 1 to bucket 2. You had 2X dollar growth in bucket 2 (cloud), but you still have 18 dollars left. No new dollars came in but spin to keep the focus on "cloud growth" is vs. the overall growth. Avoid talking about new customers or overall revenue growth. Investor beware......I am alarmed the financial analysts don't drill more into the lack of new customer growth.

Re: SB - true, he's not an employee (to be fired) but he is a contractor whose contract can be ended.
To the poster who wants to fire the ELT starting with CTO SB, you can’t. SB is not an employee.

Can someone please answer the question on new customer wins? Why the lack of transparency on such a critical metric? Snowflake reports this every quarter. You have the data since you sell expensive enterprise systems and I assume you have analysts that know SQL. And you are a database company.
It's true.
Teradata is shrinking faster than a puddle on hot pavement.
They are masking this by moving money around from one bean counter to the next. Closed nearly all of their global remote offices, as well as selling off 90% of their real estate on their "HQ campus" in SD. Shutting down essential backend services to "cut costs". Massive, secretive layoffs going on in the background. No new services or technologies being implemented or deployed, just shutting things off to make it look like they are treading water financially. Just long enough so the current ELT can cash out their RSUs and flee the sinking ship with a hefty retirement on the investor's dime.
All of the ELT should be fired. Starting with the guy who said years ago that "the cloud" was just a fad.
Just keep saying “ARR Cloud Growth” and don’t look at the man behind the curtain. #LastToCloud

How can an investor make an intelligent decision without this basic information? And how can the analysts let them dodge this quarter after quarter? TDC should publish the total new customer wins by quarter for the last five years.
Maybe the financial analysts need some simple math. Starting with how many new customers did you win last quarter and last year? Snowflake reports this. Why not TDC? If SM says he does now know then you have to ask how can you call yourself an analytics company and now know?
