H1B Visa 60 day timer to find a new job

Wondering for those laid off on H1B visa in Micron, does the 60 day clock start ticking the day you get laid off or is it similar to Amazon where you got 2 months severence period and then the 60 day timer begins? (eg. Amazon November layoffs have time until March end to find a job to remain legally in US)

It should be neither of your scenarios. 60 days supposed to count when you leave Micron, which should be this Friday for most people

Micron should reach out to you on your last day for this, but better to confirm with Micron than believe what we say here

Also contact some third party attorneys. Many offer free case evaluations. Micron immigration legal is not the brightest.

You'll get multiple wrong answers on an anonymous internet forum. Best to contact the affected individuals directly or the company's immigration attorneys.
