It was hard for me to believe that this company got rid of those who had excellent reviews so easily, but that's the bitter truth. So what's the point in trying to get a good review? I no longer see any point in trying, so I'm starting to think more and more about what I want to do next.

I had only been working there about 9 months when I got laid off. I wasn't even ranked yet.
Boot straps kool-aid drink is probably a Micron HR partner. You should all quit... You are all suffering from Stockholm syndrome.
Many companies do that, but not most, not even half. CA and NY are bad choice: that’s where this toxicity originated and Sanj just misbegottenly brought it to ID. Try AZ.
Exactly my thoughts. I'm seriously considering leaving once my visa situation is figured out. I know most companies did this but living in Idaho I have zero options if I lose my job. Gonna look into California or New York.
Good review is BS, it has zero intrinsic value.
Networking and allies are the most important. So that your boss thinks twice or trice before making you a scapegoat.
"Post is just silly"....do you not know someone who had good reviews and was walked? It is a great point actually. Job security and safety are not assured by performance the way this one went down....use to be true, but not under Sanjay. The post is precisely the psychological impact this layoff and others ongoing throughout Tech/Silicon Valley will cause...loss of trust. If you believe you are employed and paid due to putting in great effort and get good reviews....and then suddenly the economic conditions makes you a dispensable asset to help clear up the balance sheet?
This post is just silly. I am not sure why an employee would ever not try to put in 110% effort. Now, more than ever, employees should be digging even deeper. Times are tough, but things will bounce back.
So pull yourself up by your boot straps and put your best foot forward.
