Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Unionize

Would anyone be interested in unionizing here in Des Moines? I’m going to reach out to UFCW and plan on starting a discord group if there is a lot of interest. Reply to this post if you are interested so I can get a feel for the demand.

The last thing we want is some union goons getting their noses under the tent. They only want to collect dues that can be turned into political muscle. They can't go back in time and soothe your hurt feelings.

Good luck, they’re going to fight you tooth and nail. One thing hy-vee could do would be to get behind union help, it would dramatically help their hiring problem, but they’re as greedy as the next corporation, so it’ll never happen

I will for sure. First order business getting back salaried dept mgr overtime from march 16th 2020 to present. Company had record profits in 2020. I know so many dept heads that work 60 to 65 hours a week due staffing issues. Still going on today. Only salaried job in store should be store mgr. Called labor trust with help i re file claim. Class action on this issue is only way to go.

What a joke. HyVee won’t unionize. I would love them too but we all know it would take too much effort. With the turn over so high anymore good luck trying to find enough people to care about starting a union. Most people find it easier to just quit and find a new job.
