More layoffs? Ill let you decide

WARN Notices -
Worker Adjustment and Retraining Act (WARN)

Notice of layoffs
Rapid Response's early intervention services can only be initiated when the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the MassHire Department of Career Service's (MDCS) Rapid Response team learns of the impending layoffs. Companies will often notify the Rapid Response team of a layoff and invite them to come on site to help the workers who will be laid off. In some cases, employers are required to provide 60 days notice before a layoff. Certain mass layoffs and plant closings will meet the criteria of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining (WARN) Act.

Go to this website and they have a spreadsheet with Companies who have filed notices for upcoming layoffs

https://www.mass.gov/service-details/worker-adjustment-and-retraining-act-warn-weekly-report

The file name is WARN report for the week ending 2/17/23

Wayfair filed on 1/20 for an upcoming date of 3/20

Wayfair has been deep diving looking for little ridiculous reasons to terminate people to avoid it being considered a mass layoff and getting into the media. They seem to be keeping it just under 100 people. They have built locations in at least China & India. They are being to off shore the work and are having those who will be losing their jobs in the near future train their replacements. What used to be a great company has become the biggest, most hypocritical organization. We all know our days are numbered, but they think we are id--ts.

They file it the day they announce it people. And then keep those on the books for the timeframe the WARN Act requires. That’s why that act doesn’t actually warn anyone.. so checking that site is pointless sadly.

I am so nervous right now. So many of my friends are being terminated for small stuff and that makes me uncomfortable because I know it’s wrong and I am wondering when’s my time gonna come. I am unable to work in peace because they are looking for any and everything to fire people and not pay severance.

So Wayfair has been firing managers for petty reasons to not pay them severance. They are making up small problems and targeting higher paying managers to terminate and keep the lower paying ones and they are not replacing those managers. What they are doing is very wrong.

The date of 3/20 is for the layoffs on 1/20. Those who were laid off on 1/20 are actually still employed for 60 days on admin leave, to follow the guidelines of the WARN act. Those impacted will actually no longer employed by Wayfair on 3/20.

both “file” dates were the dates of the last two layoffs. the number of people laid off corresponds.

There is definitely more coming but you are not reading that file right. It also has a similar row for 8/19/22 for a layoff of 10/19/22
