I see posts from laid off HR personnel on LinkedIn talking about how they are open to work and frustrated because they have applied to 100+ posting with no luck. They say they want to get back to work so they can help candidates and employees, absured. Aren't those the same folks who scr_ew employees left and right to protect managers? I don't feel sympathetic at all with anyone from the HR at any large company. They are bunch of pathetic psychopaths who laugh at the misery of the employees. I have talked to a few HR ladies and they love the power given to them to destroy people future.

It is the same in the Bay area. LB was the head of HR for years there. When HR was mentioned there, many engineers showed frowned faces. Remember Qcom was sued by female employees? When women were victims of bullying, harassment, LB never investigated according to the company policy. Who knows how many cases she covered up. Then she got some YWCA women's award.
Ditto what OP said. I spoke up about my manager and HR went against me. She kept noted only when I say negative about my manager but not when manager said about me. I was shown door in next review.
What a think a disgruntled HR ex-employee should do is write a tell-all book about all the complaints they received, and how they handled them. How they knew they were scr3wing the engineers over, how they knew some managers and VP's were poison because of repeated complaints against a select group, but that that was how upper UPPER management wanted things handled. I bet HR folks had a hard time sleeping at night knowing what they were doing, for rent money. But if were to be optimistic, I would say some of them grew a conscience and quit because they hated THEIR job.
You are incorrect. It is not HR that does that. (in)HUMAN resources passes your complaint about a b@ckst@bbing manager to "ER" -- EMLOYEE RELATIONS. It is THEY who scoop dirt under the carpet by acting symPATHETIC and saying "our hands are tied". It's more like "No, your NOSE is tied....to your master's @SS".
Not sure what HR actually does. It's not managing human resources, the engineers. I think they are just the ones that fill out new employees paperwork then start a stopwatch and a betting pool to see how long the poor b@stard lasts.
HR is their to save company-wide reputation and a-s.
They do a fine job.
The problem is this misunderstood that employers think hr is there to help employees.
Qualcomm HR is corrupt. All they do is scoop dirt under the carpet to protect an even more corrupt management chain.
