How can this possibly be true when there aren't even a "bunch" of stores left to close? haha!!!!

Nobody cares what you "heard". And no Sears are closing as of now. The article about Kendale Lakes is mistaken as Home Goods (or whoever they are called) is only going to take over a PORTION of that Kmart. Kmart will just be getting smaller but it's not closing.
