Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Mass Exodus Looming

I seriously think CVS is underestimating the amount of walkouts, resignations and just employee turnover thats about to hit some of these big markets. The reckoning for treating Managers and good employees is almost upon us. Buckle up.

Agree. CVS has taken away pdiem pay away from nurses working weekends on top of reg 8-430 M-F and started making them take off a day during week. 8 hour shifts. Bonus and raise lower than last year but company made record profits. The only perk is working at home but you are glued to your seat and rarely take a break.

There will be a mass exodus right after bonuses are paid just like every year. CVS counts on it, they rely on the gap of employees/open positions. People say get their $5k bonus and then leave. CVS will leave open for2 months that same position. They benefit since no salary etc for 2 months to be paid

Right after our bonus, full timers were cut down to 30 hours a week. February and March the hours of other stores have been cut severely. I never seen hours cuts this bad before.

150% bonus in March? More than what is on the store P&L?

isn't CVS like the only company making any money. Everyone else is laying off after having a bad fiscal year. CVS seems to be doing well when others are not.

What about the way they treat their remote employees? It’s awful. They make you feel unworthy of even breathing.

It’ll happen after March 15th when bonuses pay out.

CVS knows and welcomes this. Instead of elevating pharmacy and becoming the place every patient wants to visit to get the best care from the best people… They are looking for ways to drop the number of pharmacists we employ and keeping the rates we pay them at as low as possible. . CVS has always lived by the motto of cut labor costs at any cost.

They know they have patients locked in due to Caremark/Aetna. They don’t care what kind of people are staffing the stores, if they are competent pharmacists or if they provide good care.

The quicker everyone realizes this the better. Either except it and move on or find yourself a new job with a different company. Or better yet start up your own pharmacy that you can eventually sell to CVS for boat loads of money.

A mass exodus is exactly what corporate deserves for the way they treat their employees! So I for one really hope it happens, and I hope it's staggering! That said, @1ekd+1ldASYyE is probably right. I personally have seen CVS abuse employees and yet they stay and take the abuse. I don't get it.

No one has the confidence, courage or self respect to leave. It’s sad. These poor people take constant abuse from customers and leaders to the point where they think they are not worth more. It an intentional move by CVS and other companies like them to reduce the turn over you think is going to happen.
