Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Failing to innovate

there is nothing innovated about the company, no good engineers or technology as they don’t value them or pay well. they still act like a transaction based pc company model.

Exactly. I don't believe that Dell can ever again be an innovative place like it used to be. But how did the innovation disappear here in the first place?

Dell is a good ole boy network. Promotions & layoff protection goes to friends & family who for the most part are dead weight.
Dell completely FUBARed the EMC acquisition. The quality products. They have too many Directors & up protecting turf. They are 5 years into the acquisition & still developing the tools & processes to manage the portfolio. It’s a mess!!!!

Dell was never innovative. Watch actions only.

How much does a typical engineer at Dell make?

reasons to have no innovation: low pay, not promoting good engineers instead promoting friends and family, no sense of job security by laying off too frequently, every manager for himself, giving peanuts with inspired points...........
