Not Looking Good

Our store missed the path to growth bonus in Q4, with only a few stores in our district making it. We started the new fiscal year and Q1 and our store scorecard is again under 3.0 so two weeks into the new year and it looks like we are going to miss it again. Where is the merchandise? How are we supposed to make sales plan when we are exiting so many brands and don't have an assortment for our customers?

It looks like the company doesn't want to payout bonus to stores anymore. Sales plans are too high, changed the loyalty goals making it much harder in a year when many customers don't want another credit card at 30%, and good luck making NPS with no merch to sell. Never saw so many stores with such low scorecards early into the new year.

I don’t agree with it, but credit isn’t going away. Push hard if you want to keep your job. Credit drives profit for the Company and customers who have Macy’s cards spend more with Macy’s and are more loyal to the brand. With business being so challenging and with those heinous shortage results, they need more Macy’s card holders or Bronze users to get revenue from somewhere. Accept it or go work for a company that doesn’t have branded store credit cards.

Nobody wants to open a credit card, with crazy 30% interest rates. That's why the change in PTG bonus criteria, gonna be a real fun year with everyone being pushed to open credit every day. A ton of pressure on managers to open credit, we are having calls every week because our store in not making the goal and the DVP is flipping out. The conference calls are just a way to pressure the managers into pushing the employees hard on credit, nobody is happy.

My store has an excellent store manager. We made PTG all 4 quarters. We're a smaller store and the vast majority of the managers are really good. I feel lucky.

Oh I forgot about the park to growth bonus. I don’t think we got a bonus at all in 2022.

The overall morale in my store is at an all time low. Many of us who have already had our hrs cut and are being humiliated by management on a daily basis have had enough. No one wants a new charge its hard enough to get bronze as it is. I have reached the end of my patience whatever happens, happens. If they fire me so be it in some ways it would be a relief

Macys does not want to make it easier. The leadership at the top is too robotic and not using common sense. Keep expecting more and more with less staff. The results will not be good. Plus theft and not having Colleagues available to ring customers is more and more like sabotage.
