Thread regarding Fossil Inc. layoffs

Ready to leave this company

I am absolutely ready to leave this place. I understand that some get worried at the very thought of losing their jobs here, but I'm sick of this company and I believe I'm not the only one who would feel relief after leaving this place?

The toxicity is REAL. Even in Basel
where misconduct/ harassment was ignored by the management & HR - though the incidents were reported but they never made any official records nor fixing anything. I had to seek therapies on my own expense. So glad to have left this place!

Btw, I saw the layoffs coming - not surprised as they have incompetent leaders sitting at the desk, making all the wrong choices for the business over the past years.

The cliques where.... promotions were given because of friendships and the person knew zilch, promotions given because of made up s-b stories, those that were willing to undercut their coworkers, etc. However there were those people who perceived that others belonged to cliques because they couldn't face the fact that their work and work ethics were subpar and it really wasn't about 'cliques' and they just wanted recognition without putting in the work...need I go on?

What cliques? I’ve been gone a few years now but I always enjoyed my time there. Doesn’t much sound like the company I was part of

My time at Fossil was great, until it wasn’t. And then it was really bad. I wanted to quit so many times over the last few years I was there, so when I got laid off, it rocked. I could hardly contain my glee over the phone. There are other jobs. See what’s out there. Fossil was something pretty special in its prime, but that’s just not the case anymore.

What’s more disgusting is these same people will proudly tout the layoffs in the next shareholders meeting and boast of how they have cut their expenses to be in good standing and help the stocks go up!

@2ehm+1latkdwC as and let's not forget about the Directors and VP's who take lengthy PAID 'sabbaticals' knowing employees on their teams will be laid off, given no merit increases or bonuses, the support staff doing the work of 3 people. Not to mention the 10 percent cut in pay employees were made to t as ke in order to keep employment during a pandemic. Only to be offered a 'retention bonus' if they stay and be released later. Yo....to the one's that took that offer....you do realize that retention bonus was your 10 percent pay cut being paid back to you. They did you no favors...they just needed people in the seats.....

@2kuf+1latkdwC great question and why are they still getting paid large salaries and large bonuses while they run the business into the ground!

the top management in US took the wrong decisions over the past years. it's a matter of facts we did not come back on track. why they still there?

Totally agree with the other commenters here. While my time there was mostly good. Leaving was the best thing I could have done for my career and mental health. 💯
It’ll be ok! You’ll be ok!

It's validating to read that others have/had issues with the cliques. Definitely the reason I left and I felt so alone when I did. I'm sorry others have had to go through the same thing. Leaving Fossil was hands down the best thing that I did for myself and my mental health.

Its a relief to leave. The cliques at fossil should NEVER be the norm in a corporate environment. They are normalized at fossil and its obvious who the 'favorites' are. So glad to be away from all of that toxicity.

I got laid off a while back and it was the best thing ever! Fossil is so destructive to your soul with the bullying that happens there. Fossil lacks the leaders it needs to continue to move forward. Each reorg continues to get worse.

Do yourself the best favor possible. Leave. It’s so much better working for a real company with experienced leaders.
