Someone please explain to me why stores can't interview and hire? The phone hire system is just about the cr-ppiest thing ever. And we're not supposed to interview them when they come in? Do the phone hire people even ASK them any questions other than 'are you breathing?'

I am a former MBA, and all managers who have jobs reporting to them, are supposed to review the applicants on a daily basis. They do not there are positions that are PHONE hired and correct, they are usually not interviewed either 90% of the time they are automatically sent a job offer And many have no idea because they are expecting a call for an interview so they don’t even bother to look at their email. Are used to beg the managers to go in look at their applicants and set up interviews and they never did sometimes I would go ahead and interview and hire , the candidates since the MBA oversees the process. And the managers had the nerve to be upset that I hired for their department. I am so glad I am no longer working at the store.
I applied for a Flex job and have not heard anything in a few weeks. It just says pending store review.
Phone hire kids hiring kids over the phone.
Phone hire is kind of a misleading name. In reality, most are never interviewed, or even spoken with. A job offer is usually just emailed to them. Often times the person doesn’t have any idea what the job is they are hired for. Stupidest thing ever.
When the phone hiring started one if the first people they hired was living full time in a van with her boyfriend. She would roll in late usually and tried borrowing money from everyone in the store a fireball offense. She was lazy and refused to do any real work. Thats all you need to know about this system.
