Our turn next
Whether FTC has a good argument or they’re simply power tripping they’re not going to make this merge easy. This mess will take longer to sort and we don’t know how it will go.
It only took FTC 4 or so months to approve the Dell EMC VMW merge. We’re almost a year from the announcement and haven’t heard anything from them yet. So analysts and antitrust lawyers are right to question the probability of this succeeding. What’s different this time?
The rest of the tech sector moved up because they are all firing their employees and going into “efficiency” mode. Easier to save a dollar vs earn 3 in profit.
CRN is trash in anycase.
To the person who thinks vmw went up when U.K. announced phase 2, you must be living under a unique rock. Did you see how much rest of the tech sector moved up??
If market believes it will go through then it would be reflected in the price. Our stock has been lagging the markets for months and have been stock in a range.
"CRN reports this deal only has a 50/50 chance now."
That's not reflected in the price. We went up when the UK announced a six month extension. Clearly the market does believe this will go through.
CRN reports this deal only has a 50/50 chance now. That’s only one analyst of course but lawyers from the National Law Review article also doesn’t see this deal closing. Based on FTC’s actions lately, they’re going to throw everything they can to block this deal. So it either doesn’t go through or it does but it could probably get dragged in courts first. What are the chances FTC and CMA say proceed without asking for multiple remedies that makes the deal less attractive?

The article said the FTC is unhinged and activist and not respecting the rule of law. You know, like an orange man from Florida.
I couldn’t get passed the pay wall. What did the article say?
MD says he’s confident it will go through based on what he knows
