Microsoft is rehiring some of the laid off employees

Why the he-l do you get rid of somebody just to rehire them within months? It makes zero sense to me, especially from the financial perspective. But in any case, if you were laid off by Microsoft, apparently it's not a waste to try and reapply because some people are being rehired (and even offered jobs without having applied for them beforehand).

Laid off people is not finance strategy, the "savings" are very minimal at all, the lay offs are fear strategy, to put everyone in alert mode and make they work more to avoid be fired. The only time when layoffs will be cost-saving is when we were replaced by AI, and we are not so long of that... be prepared.
