For some reason VMware was recruiting for Product Designer couple days ago, probably due to the fact that employee leaving prior to the merger? Me being an intermediate Product Designer candidate, have got an interview invitation from HR. I did some research and learn about the merger, and could use some advice from everyone working at VMW now. Any thoughts in general or in terms of opportunity and career prospect? Thanks in advance!

Run for your life!
Would not join because the entire design team is likely to be let go on Day 1.
Ask if you should join the company on a website dedicated to layoffs is not just ironic but bad as career advise.
Good chance you might lose your job in 3-5 months. Join if you are desperate to find a short term stint

Is it much more money? Do you think you will learn from the peers in your group? Are you ok knowing that in less than a year there is a large chance you will be laid off if you are in a group that doesn’t survive the impending massive layoffs and selling off of biz units? Does it bother you that we have a lame duck C suite and upper management teams as well as a CEO who dresses like a confused toddler and can’t wear his glasses straight?
If you manage to get a similar offer elsewhere, that is likely the better option.
