Thread regarding Salesforce.com Inc. layoffs

Salesforce employees are not happy

  1. Salesforce conducts more layoffs. Employees aren't happy about how the cloud giant is handling its plan to cut 10% of its workforce. CEO Marc Benioff personally responded to some employees who are complaining on Slack, my colleague Ashley Stewart reports.
  • The most recent round of cuts hit a sales team selling the highest-tier of support called Signature, as well as Salesforce.org, the unit that sells services to non-profits and educational institutions.
  • Employees are particularly frustrated with how the company has communicated its progress on the layoffs. They say it's unclear how many more rounds of cuts are coming.
  • The cost-cutting did help Salesforce avoid a proxy battle for control of its board, as activist investors pushed for Salesforce to focus on efficiency. One of those investors, Elliott Management, said earlier this week that it would drop its challenge to the board.

Salesforce isn't even the same company it was 2 years ago. It's completely changed for the worse. We went from one of the best places to work, to one of the most toxic.

So sad to see this. I loved my years there and thought the culture was great. I’m sure it’s based on what department you are in. However, watching from the outside now, it looks very different from what it was. I wish Benioff realized that the company culture he built isn’t the same culture today, and when trust is lost, it’s almost impossible to regain.

Let’s be real here, this is all about the top 1% of SF fighting to keep their cushy pay coming in. The way to do that is to fight off the activist investors who want to also not only keep their cushy pay coming in but to increase that pay exponentially and remove any obstacles in the way of that.

They saw an easy path to do that by inflating profits by cutting heads. It’s a temporary fix. They will continue down this path and make cuts where they have to.

Have you figured out yet that there is no “Ohana” and that loyalty is a one way street?

To the billionaire owner billions aren’t enough.

To the millionaire execs, millions aren’t enough.

More. More. More.

Godspeed.

Wonderful
My company is a Salesforce customer. Before layoffs Salesforce could implement requested changes to programs quickly enough.

Ashley Stewart and Ellen Thomas are not journalists, they are the equivalent of ambulance chasers! Bottom of the barrel.

I really don't think anyone at Salesforce is happy. People talk aloud in the office about what a sh-t show this place has become.

Going back to November 2022, the total layoffs have to be well beyond 10%. Marc not being truthful and he is fighting for control. He sacrificed his workforce to save himself. No one should be surprised. Ohana is definitely in the rear view mirror. I am wondering who the new co-ceo will be. Expect an outsider Elliott approved.
