Thread regarding Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. layoffs

Zaslav Took An 85% Paycut

Orchestrating around $4 billion in synergy cuts at the newly consolidated Warner Bros. Discovery last year, company CEO David Zaslav saw his own 2022 compensation drop from more than $246 million the previous year to just $39.3 million.

I have my doubts that the legacy media will ever recover from adopting ESG initiatives. Get woke, go broke.

Maybe this is never about the programs. Look around and see who is making money.
Is it the decline of the middle class?

(1) There is no shortage of workers in white-collar jobs. Ignore the news talking heads.
(2) We see wanted signs in stores and delivery. Then we ask government to relax OPT and H1B visas. That will sure help a lot.
(3) If that is not enough, who is not squeezed, competing against global outsourcing trend and automation?

As soon as Warner is done squeezing every last drop of blood from harry potter, zaslav will cash out and the company will be little more than a forgotten relic of the 20th century. there’s no happy ending here.
