Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Is Robin’s taking over of P&T a sign of ominous times!

The caption summarizes the question? The track record shows a heaps and heaps of skeletons left behind from the organizations within Shell that he led? Should P&T be worried?

Can you get a long term role in India for P&T with US pay?

Will the axe fall? Seems too quiet on the front. Feels like the calm before the storm. Can anyone throw us a bone?

Robin is not a manager, he is an axe man. He either downsizes or sells the assets he looks after.

No harm to resize the P&T bubble.

I suspect this is about Power and who has it. Although the lines of business decide whether to spend Capex, P&T actually do the spending of it and also act as a gatekeeper, for example saying you're not ready, it's not competitive enough, even in non-operated ventures. There's a lot of people in P&T who some in the businesses think are a little to big for their boots. They were probably supposed to be a service provider once upon a time. So is Robin there to tweak that or to seriously mess with it? Dunno - but could be interesting.

Oh boy, he and his second in command Shirley Yap were on a divestment spree - Martinez, Puget Sound, Deer Park! Not sure what follows for P&T

Isn’t P&T an organization mostly made up of people assets? If so his job will be a big offshoring effort, moving jobs from Netherlands and England to India!

When I put Robin Mooldijk and refinery sale in a Google search I was shocked how much of Shell’s assets he’s sold off. The list goes on and on. Could be very well be a prediction of ominous things to come for P&T.

My prediction is a SVS opportunity coming in later 2023 or early 2024. Even with all the executive changes the timing is "about right" based on a 3-4 year window. Fingers crossed because it will be a huge pay day.

Agree. Wasn’t he responsible for marketing / selling off nearly all of Shell’s refineries?

Perhaps it’s why he’s been promoted to P&T.
