Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

JW has more ethics violations than we have new logos

Just ask HR and her team, but she can’t be fired. KCC if this is what you call DEI in action, then count me out.

Has HR done anything to address this? All they have to do is look at the number of comments to know they have a major issue on their hands. I doubt the people who hired her can admit their mistake and fire here less than one year later. I blame the hiring process more than JW. She is who she is. How can we keep making the same executive hiring mistakes over and over?

Ask the marketers who have been recently let go, after they gave anonymous feedback about JW and cronies to HR, how that went.

Hahaha. The “C-suite” is clueless. Just milking us dry. The people who point that out are laid off. Just a slow, painful descent.

If you care about making a difference write down your ideas and submit them to the C- Suite. You can probably do that anonymously too.

CT is an old timer is is not a flashy marketing type, but he is way better than JW or any of her new entourage. I know, he does not check any of the desired boxes but we do have a business to run.

You know things are bad when we see marketing co-workers on here suddenly jumping on the "CT train" lol! He should've been kicked out a long time ago.

The corporate world has gone crazy. It's not just TD. Look at the Bud Light marketing disaster as one of many recent examples. It's like they're in a race to see who can alienate their loyal customer base the fastest. As an employee you have no say in the matter and will get laid off if you do say something. Then again, you'll get laid off eventually regardless as the customers flee, so maybe it's best to say something and go out with a bang.

Celebrating VantageLake looks really d-mb now. It’s a failed product, just like the machine learning and graph engines, and NOS. No new successful products in over 5 years. Maybe this is why we have few new customer wins the last 5 years????

She showed her true colors and priorities when she spoke on the company wide meeting claiming that the executives ringing the bell at the NYSE was the most significant thing Teradata marketing has done in several years.

The few people impressed by that stopped being impressed in the 90’s. It’s just a ego boost photo op for the ELT’s LinkedIn. Vanity.

Did it do a damn thing to move even an one opportunity forward, much less secure a new logo? Of course not.

With her, it is not even about marketing Teradata or marketing the marketing team. It’s only about how she can market her image.

CT is the only one in Marketing who can spell Teradata. Nobody else has a clue. If I am wrong let me know who. We are paying people who are so new they don’t know what they don’t know.

How did she get it and how does she keep it? She’s a disastrous diversity hire that is safe because of it. The woke ELT can’t get rid of her because of the optics. They can marginalize her and put her out to be in charge of “special projects.” They can move her worthless directors out with her. And the sooner, the better.

CT knows our business and doesn’t embarrass us in front of customers or industry analysts. Can you say the same for JW? How did she even get the job, and now her ineptitude is on full display how does she keep it?

Tell me this is an April Fools joke. Our CMO plays a Mikey Cyrus breakup some at a leadership meeting and dances to it? What in the he!! Is this company coming to? Does SM even track what people do after he hires them? Maybe JW can join SB at Burning Man this year. He likes to dance to weird music too.

JW plays the song at the beginning of every monthly marketing leadership team meeting and dances to it. The loose explanation is just like the lyrics describe, we don't need others to tell us we are doing marketing, we do it because we can be our own validation?

"I can buy myself flowers
Write my name in the sand
Talk to myself for hours
Say things you don't understand
I can take myself dancing
And I can hold my own hand
Yeah, I can love me better than you can"

Why would a CMO force you to listen to a song about a breakup? Bizarre behavior. I doubt the Snowflake marketing team is listening to Miley

These are certainly not claims but facts ask KCC or any of our marketing team or our HR business partner.

I could not believe JW was playing a Miley Cyrus song. This disgusted me since I don’t share any of the values that Miley openly flaunts. Call me boring or conservative but why do I have to deal with this in a business environment?

Don’t launch claims against someone in a public forum unless you have facts. You made serious claims about HR violations, now you should back them up or retract them.

CT is 100X more qualified than JW for this job. I don't believe what you say about him since I've worked for him and never saw any concerns. Stop spreading misinformation unless you can back it up.

Someone thinks CT should have JW’s job? His list of HR concerns and team exits is longer than JW.

Many of us assumed once one reorg shrunk him down to a team of less than 6, it meant JW had acquired all insider knowledge and internal connections of his and she would drop him. Fast forward a few reorgs, and now he is back to a team of 20+. Interesting. What gamer infinite lives code is he playing?

How do we keep getting such bad ELT hires? You would think they would be fully vetted. ET, RP, HA, NC were horrible hires. Really bad. Now it appears JW is the worst of the bunch. And SM as CEO with no experience was unbelievable especially after we let the one great executive hire SB get passed over and now look how well he is doing as CEO of FF. How does this keep happening? CT should have had JW's job but he does not check the boxes, No wonder we are not winning new customers or growing revenue.

She is horrific! She is an embarrassment. Buys her way into accolades and put on the worst event series - is it “Possible” to get any more embarrassing? Is it “Possible” to be any more incompetent?
All of this falls on the board. The only ones that are at fault more than the ELT for this companies ongoing decline is the board…
Maybe she is the smart one? She is getting paid a lot of money for not only doing a bad job…. but also being entitled, being out of touch and the cherry on top/ actually hurting our reputation even more…

Diversity is a joke here… the misogyny that is rampant, especially within the sales areas….is like nothing I’ve ever experienced.

And just plain out of touch. Brought in all of the San Diego marketing staff for a meeting in the office on a day when the heavy rain doubled most morning commutes, and expected us to cheerfully dance around to a Miley Cyrus song. No. Just no. We’re not teenagers. That’s not how you improve morale.

What did anyone expect from a diversity hire in way over her head? The only positive is there is nothing to market so she can’t hurt much.

Absolutely spot on post. I am close enough to this dumpster fire to see protectionism at play. It will take a board decision to move her out. Maybe the worst c-level hire of the decade across technology companies. Sadly in good company at TD with some of the other front runners for this prestigious honor. Nick, SM and KCC jockeying for position.
