What happened to the Great changes that were supposed to happen in vision center? Has anyone heard anything?

Who’s gonna tell the brass up top that the vast majority of folks hitting these arbitrary non business impacting numbers (multiples. Text adoption. Warranties.) are cheating? Middle management certainly won’t, because as long as the numbers look good, it doesn’t matter to them how they’re attained.

Most hitting the arbitrary 68% goal of text adoption are creating fake BOSS accounts using staff cell phone numbers.

Most hitting the arbitrary 55% warranty goal are reducing their lens or frame prices by $20 and giving the warranty effectively for free.

There’s a dozen or more ways to rig the system to “hit multiples”……

There are constant threats from above. Constant derision. Zero positive dialogue. With those kinds of threats why is it a surprise that folks are embellishing numbers to achieve “success?”

None of these schemes help the business. They hurt it. When will they wake up and shake it up at the top?

Most Vision Centers will not qualify for any bonus payouts without utilization of DIV 01 metrics. The VC budgets have been so unrealistic the last 3 or 4 years, I'm afraid most of us are out of luck.

The reality is they do not care about Vision. Pharmacy makes all the $$$. Maybe if they hired a Highly qualified optician as a MHWD every once in a while there would be more hope. Their only goal with Vision is to keep us quiet and don't cause trouble.

I am aware that it’s no longer based on div1 performance. What I’m referring to is that as of three days ago when I last checked, the specifics were not available. Is it still the same percentages? X percent for meeting VC sales and X percent for operating income? Or did those percentages change? I haven’t seen that anywhere for FY24.

Actually new vcm bonus structure came down two weeks ago. Based off of VC sales and profit only. Formula is on the wire :-)

Here we are, 20% into the third month of the fiscal year, and VCMs still don’t know the details of the bonus structure.

Years of dangling the carrot in front of us. Those just have been here for a long time see this, “big changes” just to keep us here. Like they’re truly investing in optical. Truth is, you have someone running optical that doesn’t know the business, David down to the market directors. Until that changes we won’t see “big changes”, just enough excitement to keep us from looking elsewhere.

The one suggesting 9-9 Mon-Sat and open on Sunday for optical is just a bitter former pharmacy tech who thinks it’s “not fair” that optical has less operating hours than the pill counting counter. As a prior commenter stated.....optical open beyond 6pm is just a waste of payroll.

Considering they said “9-9 like pharmacy” indicates they’re not even actually an associate anymore....since, you know, Pharmacy closes at 7 everywhere now......

9-9?? I've been in optical for 30 years and
10-6 m-sat covers all the bases. Anything else is wasted payroll. People may pick up medications at various times, but the window for buying glasses is much smaller.
