Plenty of movement coming for those on the bench. Some will get layoffs some will take a voluntary severance. We should not be surprised at this. The same bunch of jokers who ran GTS into the ground are doing the same to Kyndryl. This is the only game they know and its going to get much worse.
In January we had a massive amount of people moved to the bench - the target was 17% of the workforce. It was explicitly stated that execs were excluded. We're more top heavy today than we were in GTS. Too many chiefs, worker bees are on the endangered species list. Bench was supposed to be a place to employ workers in other areas. Total BS and we knew it. Just a list of people they can layoff.
All my front line managers have had their number of supervised employees increased by as much as double. Impossible to manage properly.
DPEs (customer reps) making decisions to lay off technical people with no idea what technical teams do putting customers at risk.
Currently our support teams are running with bare bones ability to meet the needs of the customer. So many teams are one man away from being unable to do what we are contractually obligated to do. Many, many accounts are in a last man standing position. Execs don't give a sh-t.
Best piece of advice I can give anyone is stay away. We can't keep going this route with nobody to do the job. Morale is now lower than it was in our GTS days.
IBM was never this bad. We went thorough these times but there was at least an understanding to keep the lights on. Doesn't seem to be the case anymore."
