During the company meeting, many people on chat mentioned that most offices should be closed. Which large office do you think will stay or close after acquisition. Wondering if they’ll keep Palo Alto

A RTO policy, in the spirit of ex-broadcom exec Krause - now at the mess that is TIBCO+Citrix- will greatly help the effectiveness of the reduction in force policy that will be coming our way.

Dude. It's not gonna be VMware anymore. That will be the name of the new company - when/if the acquisition succeeds - but it will not be the VMW of old. Those days are over.
I would not be surprised if we reduce our office count to less than 10 from over 100 offices that we have today. Most will be let go and rest asked to report in-person to the nearby Broadcom office

Legitimate!!! My sides hurt from laughter.
There is a possibility (purely my opinion) that BCom and VMware teams will be mixed together in offices under the premise of collaboration and One Broadcom. This will give a legitimate reason for VMware to deviate from our WFH policies.
Magoo is barely capable of dressing himself
In what world does prime office space sit empty forever? Close or RTO. Magoo isn’t capable of making these decisions, so we wait in limbo.
Octanes strategy is keep offices maybe reduce in number if more than one in each key location but force staff back to an office, he has done that before as has Krause at Citrix/Tibco.
Most offices are likely on long term leases and whether they close or not will depend on how they can get out of said lease.
Most likely they want to make sure offices that have to stay for now are being utilised. Hence people will be asked to go back.
Hock said on one of the first meetings when Magoo said people are worried about layoffs and office work that
“I am sitting here on the beautiful campus with empty offices and whilst I understand the culture of working from home, we need to justify the cost to our shareholders”.
To me it’s quite obvious what they will do.
Most offices might close
