I'm not trying to sound unfeeling, I don't wish layoffs on anybody, but if it has to be someone, then employees in China should lose their jobs rather than those of us in America. We'll take the brunt of it anyhow, so any kind of reprieve from the 7,000 announced cuts is welcome in my book.

Disney is horrible! It should strategically withdraw from China, an evil country, take all business away from this communist haven.
Disney is well known for laying off US citizens in favor of foreigners. Disney executives were called before Congress in 2016 after forcing IT employees in Orlando to train their Indian H1B replacements in order to receive severance.
