Every tech company seems to be laying off in mass amounts! Even Disney announced 7000 jobs to be cut! What is really going on in this economy?? The media is all over the place. Are we in a recession? Headed for recession? Thoughts? Comments? Anyone?

We have been in a recession quietly for awhile, it’s really so bad that it’s starting to look like a depression which happens around every 100 years, people stock, stash, plan , this is going to get even worse, this is the tip of the iceberg and the titanic (economy) is going down!
Automation enhances good business processes and exacerbates the bad ones. Do worry too much about automation here. What is really going on with the economy? The unemployment rate does not count people who have stopped looking for work or the number of under employed. So while companies are having a hard time finding workers for lower paying jobs, white collar type jobs are getting harder to find. This is where are the layoffs are happening. Recession is inevitable, if not already here.
No clue but can tell you that everyone in our office is pretty scared with all the new restructuring and automation emails getting released weekly. I’m sure Germany has plans to reduce head count although every internal email we receive is how great Siemens is doing and how much money we are making and jobs are open. So to answer your question I have no clue what’s going on but feel extremely uncomfortable and uncertain like you!
You’re not alone out there! Very confusing times and the media is full of sh-t. I would only guess if all these companies are laying off in massive amounts things can’t be as good as the news portrays. As far as Siemens I’m sure they have plans to chop some fat! Hang in there we are in this together.
