I am hearing that Indirect Supply Chain (ISC) is being spun off to TATA Consulting. The end result will be layoffs. Not sure what job rolls will be impacted or how many employees will be Impacted. Has anyone heard anything?
Definition Indirect Supply Chain: Responsible for Boeing spend that is to be "consumed" by Boeing and doesn't end up on a "direct" boeing product. Examples: your office supplies, software licenses, tooling, assortment of vendors, parts specifically for testing only, etc.
The ISC org has jumped the shark.....management are fumbling id--ts.
Boeing is always looking for ways to lay off their direct employees and replace them with employees preferably in another country. They don’t care about anything other than cost. Which is the reason I am amazed anyone would go to work at Boeing in Expecting to Stay there more than three or four years.
@lby+1lRE6u5C - you indicated that “TATA is taking over buying activities”. What job role/title currently performs this function now? Is it just the buyers impacted? What other functions are impacted?
Yep true story! It was announced Oct. 2022 as a "transformation".
No it's a reorg, layoffs....put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig.
Impacted people were notified two weeks ago, I believe a 60 notice. It's at various locations/states and even international. And yes TATA is taking over buying activities...and employees were told you have to train your replacement in a executive all team mtg. It's a cluster-f...never seen a reorg go down like this and i've worked in many corporations.
Just like when a person is subject to extreme cold, the body will shut itself down from the extremities inward to survive. Of course we know all must be sacrificed to save leadership.
