As TD's problems continue to mount, ELT and corporate trolls and sympathisers are getting more and more desperate to protect their undeserved high salary, bonuses, and options.
As shown by many layoffs, they would sacrifice employees first before any of themselves. Ever heard of a losing team getting rid of the players instead of firing the coaches? But that's what's happening at this place. Everyone from the inside and outside knows there are problems in all areas, engineering, marketing, sales, support and sharing the info to help their peers from being a victim of the next layoff but ELT and corporate trolls would rather suppress.
Lately, they've taken a different approach of being more agreeable and understanding while trying to encourage folks to keep doing their bidding in hope of rescuing a sinking ship. Take the post below.
At best, if we are giving the benefit of the doubt, this seems to be a naive inexperience newbie management team member just crawled out from a rock. The person probably got sold a bill of goods, given a doomed mission, with tons of company loot and seems to be the eternal optimist on a sinking ship. As said, many of die hard company loyalist left for the lifeboats after giving it their all. Stop trying to squeeze more work from those remain, as it is hopeless and are simply fake work to enrich the too many directors and above at the helm.
However, it is more likely some ELT member or corporate troll or sympathisers using passive aggressive tactics for the same objective ... that is distract, divert, suppress from the real conversation. They would surely love it if no one say anything and continue to work harder and for what? so it is nice and calm while they collect their checks, bonuses, and RSUs. Notice the agreement statements to gain trust and then a change of tone to appeal for the sake of the company and for everyone to stop whining and mount the greatest comeback in history.
Whoever wrote this would make ELT proud. Give them another change maker award at the next all hands meeting.
But here at on this board, we call it for what it is. FAKE WORK. We trust everyone to read, observe what's going on, and decide for yourself if it's best to make a move to save yourself.
"My perspective:
Yes, this company is very broken.
Trust in product quality is minimal and it seems all our internal processes and systems are broken
There are some serious problems with senior leadership’s ability to pull together and bring the company back to former glory
These posts are mostly from smart people who aren’t just disgruntled, but actually recognize the problems that need to be solved.
With that said… The thumbs up/down responses to certain posts indicate that many people on this forum have become unwilling to see any positive. To turn this company around, we need people to make things happen and not just sit back and thumbs up the negative comments and thumbs down the positive one. And we definitely don’t need people discarding a post that offered some hope as automatically being written by an ELT member or HR.
— Not ALL directors and up are bad
— There are definitely some newer people in director and up positions who are working very hard to turn this shop around.
— If you care about this company, please look for a way that you can be part of the story of how it comes back to glory. Not every company ends up like Kodak or Blockbuster.
— We are a business on the brink of disaster… we need all of our skills to turn this around IN SPITE OF all those people who are making bad decisions (you know… the people most of the posts in this forum are about).
— If you truly think there is absolutely no hope and that you cannot do anything to contribute to saving this company, then please move on quickly - if you don’t, no matter how many bad decisions are made by others, you will also be part of the story on why this company fails if you are taking up a position and not trying making a contribution to turn this company around.
Summary: I believe in the accuracy of most of the problems reported in this very active forum. I do not, however, believe it’s too late to turn it around. We need all hands on deck to keep us from sinking. I am fighting to make my contribution in my area of expertise. It’s quite frustrating, but I am making progress. What contribution can you make to be a part of an amazing comeback story?"
