The open positions at my store are full time. I think the company is swinging the other way, getting more full timers as they will stay longer than part timers. That's what I hear from the office

Eventually sooner or later this company will get rid of full timers and have mostly part timers working. It's just a matter of time ⏳
I don't get all the downvoting. These comments are mostly true.
Plenty of other retailers hiring where they treat you with dignity and can work more then eight hours which is a joke !!
Macys has gone downhill in the last Five years.
I like the 4 day work week idea but not cutting hours. Hard to make ends meet a lot of people will be looking elsewhere. Not sure what this company is thinking or where it’s headed. There is always a trade off for increasing the wage.
So… these are the results you get for paying everyone more than $15/hour minimum. Who cares how much they will pay you an hour since they cut your hours to make you actually make the same or less than before the COVID Shut Down!! And you can’t pick up shifts because they are being deleted!!! The managers can’t even be honest with us about this!
This is sad.
Looks like you guys are being told the truth. We keep hearing, it's only for a short time or it's only for Q1. It will get better by April. Well, mid April schedule is out and it's still 28 hrs for full time. Honestly is always the best policy.
In our morning rally meeting our store manager mention after the 1st quarter they will revise our schedules and reduce hours. All full timers will be reduce to 28hrs and part timers to 8 to 12 hours. This will happen after the month of April. If business continue to be slow, this will continue all the way to fall.
We were told that we are moving to 4 day work weeks. 28hrs for full time and 8 hrs for part-time.
