Networking industry vs recession

How has the networking industry done in the past recessions? Are we expected as much layoffs as other industries?

Once EBITDA is the focus of so many conversations and town hall meetings then everyone should wake up and know that the company is never going to overcome and become what it once was. The debt will strangle the life out every single facet.

And to whomever posted from the “HN” perspective - if there is a portion of the company that is performing better than the others, that org will be sold off to help payoff debt. Your job may or may not survive with new owners who would have to reduce redundant roles.

To everyone else except c-level and execs, what has Chuckie done for you lately? Hmmmm…

Is not that no one commented, the problem is that now comments and questions are screened...

I guess the main reason why folks haven't bothered to comment on the town hall is because nothing new was presented.

  • Debt is ki-ling the company & the market has no confidence that the Co will be able to service the debt payment due in 2025.
  • Orders are down & employees will be laid off to cut cost because the sales team haven't been able to sell ice to Inuits.
  • Nothing inspirational was presented, just more of the same EBITDA, EBITDA and more EBITDA.

Speaking from a HN perspective, broadband modem orders are strong right now, especially in the Latin America region as well as Europe. US domestic orders are at normal levels or slightly down. The main issue has been the component shortage, which I hopefully see easing as the year goes on. HN has been surprisingly immune to layoffs, although attrition has been an ongoing issue. I'm hoping JC can continue to operate the division with the lean and mean mentality that he has so far, to avoid any significant layoffs.
