Thread regarding Disney layoffs

Upcoming Layoffs

It is important to note that Disney 2023+ is first and foremost DEI-based with regards to Human Resources. It is the new core, the new foundation of this department, and the whole company. DEI is the umbrella that everything else falls under. Ms. Sonia Coleman, Disney's newly appointed Chief Human Resources Officer designed, leads and continues this movement at Disney. (The research on her policies and influence on Disney DEI is interesting, to say the least. If you are curious, do a little research. This website does not allow political content or I would provide links.) Thus, with regards to lay-offs (and future hiring practices), DEI, Board/Executive approved, quotas will prevail. For so many, your strong work experience or expertise, "tenure" with Disney, amazing quality of work, wonderful, inclusive team, employee and business partner relations, etc. will NOT count if you are not in a minority class. In case you might be laid-off, I will add that there are companies out there that are looking for excellent employees, start looking now, network, get ahead of the game. Best of luck!

Look at : https://impact.disney.com/diversity-inclusion/

Then, go to: https://impact.disney.com/app/uploads/Current/FY22-Workforce-Diversity-Dashboard.pdf

Next: Note the +/- statistics for 2021.

Think forward: The +/- for 2022 will be much higher.

Conclusion: DEI is alive at Disney. Disney is (sort of) transparent. DEI will impact lay-offs.

@3sjv+1lLUoLyJ I'm not the OP but blackrock is the largest disney shareholder and the driver of executive decisions https://www.weforum.org/impact/fighting-systemic-racism-in-the-workplace/

The Partnering for Racial Justice in Business initiative aims to create long-lasting and meaningful change towards achieving racial justice. Its purpose is to operationalize and coordinate efforts to eliminate racial and ethnic equity gaps while setting new global standards for racial equity in business.

Racial equity means making hiring decisions not based on merit but on skin color.

Skin color is only important to racists. Culture is what matters, and none of these DEI measures address the underlying cultural issues that have nothing to do with race - such as single parent households, which yield underperforming children no matter what race they are.
