The way the process usually works is that you are interviewed by the hiring manager. That person has three buttons in SAP: Hire, Hold or Reject. The fact that you are not being told where you are going to go probably means that you were rejected by the hiring manager and passed on to another area. Either that, or the hiring manager in your area was reassigned and another one took his place. Aramco is chaotic enough without being put in the position of a "floater". Your odds of getting through your six month probation decrease drastically if no department is actively seeking you. As the OP said, your recruiter doesn't know anything, and he wouldn't tell you even if he did. FWIW, I would never move to a third world country to take a job if I wasn't allowed to talk with the guy I was going to be working for. It's just common sense.
If you are desperate for a job, you should also be looking at other opportunities in the Middle East. Aramco is no longer an employer of choice. You can do just as well if not better at other companies. Get your CV out there!
