Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Percentage of those who come back to Boeing

Although most people would probably never come back to this company after leaving it, there might also be some who would come back despite everything. What do you think is the percentage of those?

The ONLY incentive to return EVER was the PENSION. That was finally taken away completely 5 years ago. I have not heard of anyone returning in 8 or 9 years. Returning employees at boeing used to be a very very common thing !!!

The odds of someone switching industries is much higher than someone coming back to Boeing. There’s absolutely no incentive to return to the company. The company is notorious for wanting low, pay new graduates and laying off their older workers so the idea they would bring them back to begin with isn’t realistic.

Younger Generation: 10%.
Older Generation: 0%. They're retiring.

Aerospace industry is very small and getting smaller every day. Some people are forced to go back I guess because of family commitments, etc. regardless, not many people hold working a bone in very high regard.

I never went back. Wish I never wasted a micro second of my time at sleaze shop.

I’ve seen lots of people leave the company over the years and I did not see any of them come back. Doesn’t take much time to understand that years of service at Boeing usually results in less job security. So it’s absolutely no reason to come back the only caveat that would be if you can get a management position who seem to be protected from layoffs.

Realistically, I think it's no higher than 1%, more likely lower that come back to Boeing.

To the individuals that said they came back with a big salary bump. Yeah, sure you did.

I came back for a better position and a SIGNIFICANT pay raise. I feel good now. As for percentage - I see people are getting back. Things are going to be good for Boeing.

Likely less than 5%. I know a lot of people who have left the company and only one of them ever went back - for a better position and a significant pay raise vs. her previous role at Boeing, which is rare. The company seems to be more focused on recruiting cheap labor in the form of recent grads than it is on retaining experienced talent or making competitive offers to those who previously worked at the company.
