Sounds like our friend, "PHONE HIRE". There needs to be disclaimers online, where we are sending prospectives to apply, about the system in which is used & how they may be hired to keep Macy's from possible lawsuits. Beyond that, Macy's just needs to scrap phone hiring altogether.

As a former MBA, I can say that this actually happens frequently with phone hiring. We would then either conduct our own screening over phone ideally before they come for training to ensure availability, skills, position match what colleague applied for. 9/10 they had no clue what the position was. Also with phone hiring internal positions are quickly filled but they do not get unposted and can be double hired. Not uncommon TBH.

This can happen and has NOTHING to do with the store profiling. Probably phone hiring hired him into a position that was already slated for a transfer. This has happened in my store. We've transferred an internal into an open position effective the following Sunday and then requested that the job be taken down. Literally in the span of the couple hours between the request and the job's being taken down, phone hiring fills it. These mother fu----s work quickly believe me.
