Thank you to all the jingoistic management who hires not-even-nearly competent people in cheaper geographies. Thanks for not doing one thing to improve any of the crumbling and broken things around the company in your entire tenure. You have made a less diverse space filled with arrogant people who have little experience, yet are good at creating world class Rube Goldberg systems & code.
Thank you to all the management who had the power, but never the will, to require acquisitions to integrate into the existing infrastructure. You are the reason with have 42 choices for any way to do anything.
Thank you to all the management who come from a big Redmond, WA company who talk about how great THAT company is, and have been undermining internal infrastructure with their own goals since they day they got hired.
Thank you to all the workers who have gotten hired and want to transition everything to their favorite tools because that's what they want. No justification. No improvement in outcome. Not cheaper. Not simpler. Never you mind that it will not be a better outcome.
Thank you to all the developers who create something that doesn't work, move on and then say "I don't work on that anymore" when people ask you questions about your crumbling dung pile.
Thank you to all the management who believes Agile Standups while Scrumming is the best way to write software (errr, micromanage). You've set development back decades with your dogmatic "it must be completed in 2 weeks" approach to solving unknown problems. Now get back to writing colorful reports in Jira.
Thank you to all the management who does nothing.
Thank you to the club of PEs who promote toxic people.
And, thanks Pat. You led and created this culture. Good job.
All of you who have participated in this have made the only constant be the inconsistency and dysfunction.
You've destroyed vmware.
I hope you are happy with yourselves.
