Reuters old-timers, can you think of one thing that improved since Thomson Corporation acquired Reuters Group? I can think of dozens and dozens of things that have worsened, starting with the company culture, but no matter how hard I try, I can't think of anything I can point to and say it's better.

Compensation for top execs went thru the roof after the sale Reuters acq closed.
"Are there even any pre-Thomson Reuters left?"
Not many outside the news business- they were actively hunted down by the alcoholic on the top floor in Zug.
On the other side of this. Thomson was a much nicer place to work prior to the merge as well. It all started going down hill afterwards across the board.
What’s happened with VO this week is a direct result of poor choices made by TR leadership. It’s very sad. Too many smart and long term employees let go and the rest were understandably too nervous to stay. It’s a direct result of KRs crummy work.
Creative Solutions actually trended up a bit after Thomson bought us because they let Jon Barron keep running Tax & Acct. Merged GoSystems into CS and integrated the products. Created the new Practice Management program which is/was stellar. But then Thomson slowly started taking over control and the downhill slope kept getting steeper each year after 2012 or so. Head of support was forced out and YES Men/Women were put in charge. Then JB forced out.

Same for Creative Solutions and the UltraTax brand. Certainly not as large as Reuters, but both brands have suffered under Thomson and the McKidiots advising them.
