I've heard from colleagues who have worked with board members that they really don't understand the business at all. I've created presentations for the board and was told to "uplevel" the content and "make it so simple a dummy could understand it". It's scary how a large company like Intel can be steered by a bunch of people who really don't understand the business.

BK dated and ended up marrying one of his direct reports back in the day.

Everyone knew. No one did anything.

BK gets named CEO.

BK has an affair with his TA.

BK made that TA a VP of Diversity and Inclusion

BK and his TA were a bit too obvious in their relationship. Board found out. Board found an external landing spot for the TA, who "went" to Google.

BK and TA's affair continued.

BK's wife found out about affair, stormed in to RMB 5th floor, and made a massive scene in front of far too many people.

Given the obvious issues, the DEI changes they were promoting the Board had no option but to act at that point and forced BK to resign.

If Brandee doesn't make a scene in front of many employees, the board wasn't going to do anything to BK, as the board was led by Andy Bryant who was 100% in BK's corner from he moment a new CEO search began.

It's easy to point to Drones/his d-mb TV show/forcing talented execs out, but the Board had seen all of that and were completely in BK's corner. They didn't do anything until they had no choice.

I agree with the first reply. The board wanted him gone and they found a reason. You can bet that the relationship was known and had been documented in his personnel file for many years. You can also bet that he was very aware of what was coming. If you check the insider trades, you'll see that a month or two before he resigned, he sold all of his INTC outside of the minimum that the CEO is required to hold.

If you want to know the truth, he was responsible for seeing but not responding to the chip shortage that all of the data said was coming, and then it did.

Shows how messed up the Board was, sadly the Board now has mad four big mistakes.

The biggest mistake and hardest to fix is the Board really has no real world expertises in the business and problem Intel is facing so can’t understand the BS that PSO, BK and Pat fed them. And they were too ignorant as well to understand Bob’s plan as well

He destroyed the company by cutting r&d, pushing talented people who disagreed with him out, and set Intel back by a decade. Oh, had an affair, too.

Board wanted him gone, so they found a reason.
