IT is being outsouced. I was one who was just notified that their last day is June 14th. I think there are close to about 300 employees in Gannett IT, and everyone from Applications, networking/infrastructure, enterprise support is either losing their jobs or being offered a position with an Indian outsourcing company. A few folks were retained, but who knows how long they will be retained for.

They said they'd be guaranteeing the jobs of everyone they retained for one or two years, but they wouldn't say who was one year and who was two. Apparently I was one of the one year people since I got laid off right at the one year mark.
Gannett is outsourcing everything and only keeping top executives, who gets payed the big bucks. The current management have managed to ruin the brand! Everyone's data is now in the hands of Indian companies across the plate.
