Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Give them no satisfaction ... I did it my way!

Gonna leave this place soon... stuck it out until it's time and saw it all ... first all the good and now all the bad ... they won't have the satisfaction of laying me off ... leaving when they still need me ... I won't have to deal with this whole gang of unethical directors, VPs, SPVs, and ELTs again ... I did it my way ... good luck to all who's still here

And now the end is here
And so I face that final curtain
My friend I'll make it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and every highway
And more, much more
I did it, I did it my way
Regrets, I've had a few
But then again too few to mention
I did what I had to do
I saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much, much more
I did it, I did it my way
Yes, there were times I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and sp-t it out
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself then he has naught
Not to say the things that he truly feels
And not the words of someone who kneels
Let the record shows I took all the blows and did it my way

No need for do nothing management either.

Done enough to see the good days and many real customer and innovation win celebrations. Until someone do something that can be trace to revenue, customer, or innovation win, they are just doing nothing and has nothing to show for but sucking the company dry.

"If you put that much effort into writing code, we might not be where we are today."

Whoever wrote this is an id**t because it is missing the bigger picture many are trying to convey and reinforces the cluelessness of the current regime and all that is wrong with this company and imminent demise.

It's probably NC or an ELT member or an HR troll or current mgmt team sympathizer.

As some already pointed out, Ctl-C Ctl-V, 2 seconds.

Many are already pouring their heart and soul to write so much code and deliver features per commitment as requested by mgmt only to have the same clueless mgmt not including them in releases or disabled at customer sites. There's probably more code written but never see the light of day at customers in the last few years than all previous years of Teradata. Why is that? the eng mgmt has no idea of what needs to be built to get revenue and so are in paralysis mode.

Sure we can crank out more code but if we are going in the wrong direction, we will just dig a bigger hole. Everyone is pointing out that we lack effective strategy.

Furthermore, it's not just the code stup*d. As so many pointed out, marketing, strategy, ... are also required.

Many people see the big picture, fed up, and making their move and good for them.

So whoever wrote the above have no clue and missing the many points everyone is saying to save this place.

Whoever you are, resign for your own good.

What kind of an intellectually challenged person doesn’t recognize the cut and paste of the famous Sinatra song lyrics? Must be a millennial.

Just copy and paste - if you are a programmer hopefully you know it took 2 seconds

Good for this person getting out of this depressing company before the RIF call
