Misguided priorities - then commitment to excellence now just pure vanity

It's interesting then and now...

Then, Best of the Best (B2) award rewards best people that do the work across the company
Now, we honor a selective group under DEI and directors and above that do nothing

Then, Winner Circle sales award recognize big account signers
Now, we reward for a customer lead

Then, Engineering award recognize innovation and accomplishments
Now, we recognize change makers that runs hackathons

Then, Values award recognize people across the company for naturally living our culture
Now, we are told how to live and conform to their idea of what culture should be

Then, new hires would introduce themselves with how they can help the company
Now, new hires introduce their lifestyle and partner

Then, we just produce products that customer use and generate revenue
Now, we focus on processes, organizations, and ideology to look good and attract people but don't deliver jack that make a difference

Then, we valued people and they in return, do all they can to overcome any obstacles
Now, we pay people that are arrogant, suck us dry, and can do anything no matter how much they get paid

Some awesome strategy that got us here.

Very true. The investors and analysts got taken for a ride. So maybe the ELT and board are talented after all ... that is at deception and swindling like grifters.

Directors and above have generally been useless for years, but they are outdoing themselves now with how little they provide to the bottom line. I blame investors though. If they would enforce accountability something might happen.
