Thread regarding Meta / Facebook layoffs

META: The next AOL

A former tech CEO, who asked to remain anonymous to speak candidly, said Tuesday that companies such as Meta, Google, Amazon, and Twitter had hired “stupid amounts of people” in the last few years to work on “science projects.” Speaking specifically of Meta, the executive said, “You just wonder what are these 100,000-some people doing? The app doesn’t change much.”
“It’s surprisingly not hard for these big tech companies to cut large numbers of people without impacting the underlying revenue engine.”

and this last quote tells the whole story... these people were hired for somebody's pipe dream which did not materialize.

Fagbook is a dead tree. No real product only a social media, poorly designed, that no one uses.

They were hired because they got a gigantic influx of cash routed through blackrock from the federal reserve's money machine in the largest money laundering scheme in history.

Remember kids, EVERY TIME the government sends money to a subsidy or a foreign country under the guise of "equity", nobody is paying for it in taxes. YOU pay for it at the grocery store, the gas pump, in utilities, at amazon, etc. through inflation.

It only took a good full year before the fed had their "oh sh*t" moment realizing they went too far and started hiking rates, which is now going to lead to a depression not seen since 1929. Layoffs are just the fed trying to get their money back by pulling liquidity out of the system in hopes of reducing inflation.
