Since the CEO never misses mentioning Nuvia in his interviews, I guess Nuvia would be coming up with a good product by EOY. But there also exists the fear of upcoming recession in which Qualcomm might need to back up CPU design BU in spite of hard time

Very apparent that QCOM will have to grow thru acquisitions. No innovation from within. Pretty sketchy track record in M&A and integration, good luck with that.
Forget it. Designing a CPU for the PC/ Laptop space is a looser product. The focus area should be servers, but oh yeah Qualcomm blew that opportunity.

Low performers need constant encouragement.
Qualcomm is sitting on massive reserves - the slow down will do nothing to Q’s financial… but Q will still have layoffs just cus! Q’s management hasn’t spotted a good idea in 20 years … it would be hard seeing them identify a good product in current times
