Both Facebook and Instagram are dropping NFT development due to these layoffs. NFTs are the stupidest idea that became the "next big thing" for some inexplicable reason and watching it fall so miserably on all fronts - and now at Facebook as well - is a true thing of beauty.

I agree NFTs are d-mb but they are a requirement for the success of the metaverse. They’re digital property that exists in a virtual reality. You can’t have one without the other, so I don’t know where you’re getting this boomerbrained nonsense from.
