Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Who are those still getting 40hrs?

There are people still getting 40 hrs a week at my store PLUS some of these clowns that were seasonal are getting more hrs than me and I've been here 30+yrs really. Some of these id--ts can't tie their shoes by themselves but again they are given more hrs . But I am expected to watch multiple departments clean out fitting rooms play detective and get credits( good luck with 31.25 interest). I've been stuck at 28hrs for 2 months im shocked this isn't company wide. I don't know what the Union stores are doing with hrs

I'm interested on what basis some people got 40hrs and some didn't, even though they should've got more hours as well.

All the favorites are still getting full time hours in our store.
All you have to do is like everything that our store manager posts on his Facebook page and comment on how wonderful his family is and somehow you get all your hours. It is sickening.

I'm in a fairly small store. FT sales are likely getting the most hours, PT is likely at the low end. BOH is getting a lot of hours because who's going to set the sale and get the merch out??
Do your stores put people in the 2130 bucket (which is for pricing) to do MD's? My store does and it works great. We have a captain/manager who is leading the MD's each day. They keep track of where MD are at end of day and pass on the info to the next day's MD leader. It's been working really well.

BOH gets away with it because the managers manipulate the schedules and add hours without telling anyone. It's not as easy to do that with the selling floor schedules. Nothing to do with picking up anyone's slack, it's just the typical support manager mentality of doing what they want and letting other people take the fall for the store going over budget.

BOH though not everyone. Where seems generalists or whatever they're caled are getting hours cut, here those that perform and are in BOH seem to be relied on to pick up slack and still getting mostly "real" FT.

28? You're lucky.
I've been getting anywhere between 17 and 22.
This week? 12. So I complained and mentioned the Q word and they threw another 10 hours my way. But it's not enough

Like someone said- it's also favoritism.
There's work to be done but they don't wanna schedule people to do it.
My store has 45 hours worth of markdowns to do but they won't set aside time. They just complain that it's part of the work we're not doing LOL.

This company spends so much money on random cr-p they don't need that they don't focus and invest it on employees wanting to work. New POS systems would be great! But nah! Let's install 60 more cameras instead knowing we don't have any AP at multiple locations. That's brilliant.
The CEO is a mo--n all he cares about is making investors happy- not the consumer and definitely not the employees.
