Why Not Just Call All Stores Transformco?

If Sears, Kmart, and other names similar to these brands are such bad damaged good names no one wants to shop at anymore, why not rename all the stores and call them Transformco's? It would make sence since that is the company name now. "Shop at your local Bridehampton Transformco!"
"Right here, Right now at Transformco!"
"I shipped my Pants thanks to Transformco!"
"Transformco Blue Light Special!"
"Transformco Home Town stores!"

I like the idea. Make Transformco the name of all the stores now. No more Sears. No More Kmart. One name for all stores. Because at this point is there any difference bewteen Sears & Kmart?

Here's the link saying the entity interested in buying Hoffman couldn't get financing last year so its still not sold.

I think Transformco is a great name to put on their stores. It's more modern than Sears or Kmart. It would be a good retail store name for the 21 century.

Transformco would be a good brand name for a home improvement business -- and they are in that business already.

You can put a tuxedo on a pig but it still goes "oink."

The person who wrote this post has never been to the Hoffman Estates complex. On the west entry (the gate now permanently closed), the sign still reads "Sears Holdings." Yes, the name of the sign outside the headquarters was never changed to "Transformco." So it stands to reason that if there are inadequate resources to change the sign on the former headquarters building, there are even less to change the name of the few stores remaining to Transformco. Given the small number of stores, however, the cost differential shrinks by the day. Otherwise, we are still waiting for proof that Hoffman was sold, for how much, to whom, and when.

Just close all the remaining Sears/Kmarts now. No one is shopping there. It’s a dead dinosaur thanks to Eddie Lampert.

Seriously? Why bother? Like trying to put new paint on a dilapidated old house. With less than 2 dozen stores total across the mainland what's the point?? Just put some balloons outside the front door and see if anyone driving by notices.

The simplest answer is signage is expensive. I don't think the company has the capacity or desire to put up new signs at all the locations. Heck, they never updated signs when they updated logos over the years. Beyond that, almost nobody outside of our small group of Sears/Kmart enthusiasts know what "Transformco" is. Sears and Kmart still have national recognition, even if people that live several states away from one only know it as "that store that closed years ago." The stores are different, with different products, though there is overlap. Miami's Kmart seems to be moving away from the overlapping products oddly enough, stocking mostly pantry and health/beauty care and not much in the way of clothes or tools.
