I survived this round but I'm still on my way out. I don't like how this was handled at all. I also have stayed here for years despite the toxic culture and a bullying manager who made my life a living he-l. For once, I don't plan to focus primarily on pay in my job search. I'm willing to take a pay cut in exchange for a normal, non-toxic work environment. I guess I can be grateful to Micron for teaching me what truly matters.

Some people call those performance improvement plans “a delayed execution”. With micron just one strike is enough.
Thing is, micron's pay is not that great to justify wall-street level of toxicity. I jumped the ship when got my "performance improvement plan" really solely based on my age, not the actual performance and experience. All offers I was getting were north of my micron pay. I did choose the place with least level of toxicity for about same pay level. All I'm saying, it is possible to get yourself in a better place and you don't even need to make a sacrifice.
Same!
