How many days before the managers come to know?

My Direct manager said he didn't know the layofff was coming. But my manager's manager created the 1:1 as a "skip level" meeting and delivered the news with an HR person invited.. Was everyone else laid off by their direct manager?
My immediate manager was laid off
I got laid off during my 1:1 on Tuesday, first thing in the morning. My direct supervisor said he got notified on Thursday last week about it.
Yup if you have the 1:1 and other weekly meetings have been canceled.
I knew last week. The dreaded 1:1 email is a good sign. Especially considering they canceled other meetings…..
