Thread regarding Western Digital Corp. layoffs

Not much answered in AHM, current status is layoff will be done by FY23 Q4

If your badge still works after June 30th, I guess that means you are safe..., for now.

@5mna+1l66AEuI WD accepted $900M, so high probability payment tactics are in play to preserve cash, including those cuts to employee compensation

Western Digital reminds me of an old telecom company that went bankrupt. The culture is quite similar. That company also had a load of patents. Eventually the patents got sold foe close to $20B in bankruptcy court. Does anyone know how far behind WD is in payments to creditors and suppliers? Part of me fears once flash business is sold, the rest of the company will be sold off and shut down.

One element of AHM responding to an STI question: DG "be careful with the word promise, we did not do this." Promise is legally enforceable. Then near the end he actually admits they did promise.
